21 Weeks

Two weeks in a row Evie is in jammies- she is very into wearing "comfy clothes" right now. Whenever I try to put her in jeans, she says no and tells me she wants to wear comfy pants! Wonder where she learned the value of comfortable pants from. ;) Anyway- we're officially past the halfway point!! First trimester seemed to crawl, but now second trimester is flying by! It helps that I'm feeling like myself again (plus the growing belly). Food aversions and nausea are so mild I can ignore them most of the time, and I finally feel like I have some energy again most days.
The weather is getting colder here, fall is finally setting in I think. It makes me want to cook soup and chili and bake cookies everyday. :) I'm ready to move Evie upstairs and decorate the nursery (nesting!!), but I think we're going to wait until December after we get home from vacation and Eric gets his bonus at work.
We have planned a trip to go visit Eric's mom in Los Angeles the end of November- and we're going to spend one day in Disneyland!! Evie is SO excited, and honestly so am I. :) It will be so fun to do Disney as a parent, and see things through her eyes as we do all of the things she'll love. We probably won't do a big Disney trip until we're done having kids and they're older, but one day at Disneyland will be just enough. I will of course post a million photos after we get home!

20 Weeks

So if you haven't heard by now (impossible) Baby Roy #2 is a GIRL. :) We're very excited to be adding a little sister to the family, and I'm so thrilled that Evie will get to experience a sister bond. Also, this week means we're HALFWAY DONE!!! I can't believe the little countdown on my phone has less weeks to go than weeks I am pregnant- crazy! Although I am of course so happy to be having another baby, this pregnancy has been harder than Evie's for sure. The sooner it's over and I have a healthy baby in my arms, the better!
So my first project now that we know the baby's gender (aside from choosing a name, I'll get back to you on that because it's still undecided), is planning the nursery!! I love decorating kids' rooms, it's to fun! I'm leaning towards purple and aqua right now. We'll keep the walls gray in the nursery, but I think I want to do an accent wall behind the crib, maybe purple? I'll post some pics when I have things figured out. :)

The Big Reveal!

Good thing I've saved every stitch of clothing Evie has ever worn huh? ;)

19 Weeks

Well, sorry about last week. Life just got in the way- poor second kid getting the short end of the stick already. ;) But there's not much to report anyway- not until THURSDAY when we have our anatomy scan. Then we'll get reassurance that everything is developing normally with baby and find out Baby Roy #2's sex!! I can not wait. Can. Not. Wait.
In other news, the nausea still comes and goes, I'm tired a lot, and and I'm pregnant. ;) Food cravings and aversions change a lot for me, it's not nearly as consistent as it was with Evie. With her, I craved Mexican food all the time, and had an aversion to chicken big time. This time, about the only food I want on a regular basis is still breakfast cereal- I know, so boring! Everything else changes on a daily- sometimes hourly basis. Right now, I really could go for some excellent french fries!

17 Weeks

Now THERE'S a happy big sister. ;) Not very much to report this week, things are going well. I'm feeling much better nausea-wise, still have bouts of it but it's not everyday and not as long when it does happen. Still pretty tired most of the time, but that's getting better too. Or I'm learning to adjust to it! I am definitely feeling the baby move now, although it's very light and sporadic, I'm sure it's baby now. Very excited about that and I can't wait until it's more consistent. :)
Otherwise I'm just plugging along here, waiting to have our anatomy scan so that I can start nursery planning for this little one!!

First Day of "School"

Today was Evie's first day of preschool. She is going to a one day a week program, Mondays from 9-12, that a friend of ours is running out of her home. There are 3 other little girls going with Evie right now, and they're all right around the same age. Evie had a fantastic first day! She loved playing with the dolls and toys that Miss Robin has in her school room, and they read stories and made a really pretty leaf craft.

16 Weeks

This week is so true to life with a 3.5 year old- Evie did NOT want to hold the board this week. ;) She wanted to hold her Teddy, that is what made her happy, we couldn't get a smile with the board to save our lives!! Oh well, some days are just like that right?
16 weeks and everyone is telling me I look "SO PREGNANT." Not sure if that's good or bad, but I'll take it. ;) I've switched to maternity clothes now, particularly for bottoms- the hairband trick is not cutting it anymore! We're all dressed up for the Sunday meeting in these pics, isn't Evie's sweater dress the cutest??
I think I felt the baby move for the first time yesterday!! Not entirely positive, it's hard to tell this early, but it was little butterflies in the evening, and I'm pretty sure it was baby. I didn't feel Evie move until later (I think closer to 20 weeks actually? I'd have to go back and check), but the second time around I think you know more what to watch for. I'll keep you posted if/when I feel it again.
We're down to three weeks until my anatomy scan to check on baby's health and development- and to find out the sex!! I am so excited, I can't wait!! I have something really cute planned for the gender reveal, so stayed tuned for that.
Also, want to hear more about nausea?? I think it's finally going away!!! Imagine me doing a crazy happy dance over here, because I can finally eat food without feeling sick- and I actually WANT to eat food! I made chili yesterday and it was SOOO delicious. I'm so happy to finally want to eat again, maybe now I'll start putting on some pregnancy pounds. Not too many though thank you! ;)
