Clearly a Future Supermodel

And supermodels are supposed to be fussy and demanding right? So she's already on her way. ;) Yes, Evie was not the most willing of subjects for her newborn photos, but who can stay upset about it when you look at that face??? Lindsay did a fantastic job of capturing cute moments when she spent Saturday afternoon with us. We don't have all of the shots yet, but she posted a preview on her blog, so click here to check them out! And I will of course share the link when we have the whole batch. I just couldn't wait to show off her cuteness. :)

Evie's First Meeting

Today we took Evie to the Kingdom Hall for the first time- she did so well!! She was awake and alert when we got there so everyone got to oh and ah over her. I fed her and changed her and then Daddy rocked her for a bit and she fell asleep in Mommy's arms. She slept for the rest of the meeting like an angel. :) Above is a photo of the babies in our congregation right now- Stephanie's on the left with baby Emma who's almost four months old, Jen's in the middle with one month old Micah, and then there's Evie and I- Evie will be three weeks old tomorrow. I can't believe how fast time is going!

Evie also got her first real bath Friday night, as her umbilical cord stump finally fell off, and we wanted to be squeaky clean for her newborn photos Saturday!!! I'm SO excited to see the photos (which we should have by the end of the week),but it was way more stressful than I expected. Evie was really fussy and would NOT go to sleep, which is of course the desired state for a newborn when taking all of those cute photos. She was awake for much of the shoot, which I know will make for cute photos, but I wish she had slept for more than the 25 minutes that she did. Oh well- another lesson for me on how I can't plan everything! ;) I'll share the photos when we have them, but here's one from bathtime.

Party Girl

Yesterday we took Evie to a party with all of the friends from Orchard Park congregation- she was the Belle of the Ball!! Everyone was so excited to meet her and they all loved her. I'm a bad mom and forgot to take photos, but she did sleep the entire time so you're not missing much. Here's Evie at home before we left though- looking pretty adorable if I do say so myself. ;)

First Playdate

Today we went to the Saul's house for a little fun time with Jen, Aaron, and baby Micah. Micah and Evie are only 4 and a half days apart, so we think they'll grow up to be fast friends. :) For now, they mostly alternated sleeping, crying, and filling their diapers. However, we did make them pose for a few adorable photos together, because as Jen said- why else do we have children but to make them do things and then take photos? ;)

0 Months Old

Well, not exactly- but close enough. :) We got these cute monthly stickers from my cousin Julie and I think it's so cute that they give you a zero!! Evie's technically a week and a half old here, but you get the basic idea.

She's doing really well- she's a very independent baby, doesn't mind laying by herself for a bit and sleeps in her pack n play or moses basket alone with no problems. During the day she's a really sound sleeper as well, we can pass her around the room to everyone and she doesn't even flinch! Noises don't bother her either which is great for daytime. She's rarely fussy, only when she's hungry or a little overtired. We're working on helping her distinguish daytime and nighttime- she seems to think daytime is from about 2-6 am right now!! Thankfully we get a good chunk of sleep in the beginning of the evening, but I'm ready for her to go back to sleep after her night feedings. Hopefully soon!

Here's a video from this morning of Evie doing tummy time with the Boppy- she has such strong legs!! I'm thinking we can't leave her like this much longer or else she's going to push herself head first over the pillow. :) She's one tough cookie!

And a Video

Evie on her first full night in the hospital- enjoy!

Evelyn's First Week

Today is our first full day home- I can't believe we have a baby! Last night was hard, but from what I hear, it gets easier every night that goes by and soon we'll be settled and adjusted. Until then, remember that I'm sleep-deprived if I say something crazy. ;) My birth story is long, complicated, and a little hard for me, so I need some time to put it together. Until then, I'll just share photos of our beautiful perfect little girl!

Shortly after being born, here's Evie in the nursery, looking her chunkiest!! Can't believe I was carrying around a 9 lb. baby...

Evie says "How cute am I??"

Daddy, Evie, and Jaque-O. Eric had one of those monkeys as a kid and that's what his name was. :) Grandpa Irv brought one for Evie.

Evie her first day home, after another successful feeding. I will say this- out of everything that I wanted from my birth experience, at least breastfeeding is going well. It's actually going fantastic- yay Evie!
